Methodological Evaluation of Community Health Centre Systems in South Africa Using Multilevel Regression Analysis to Measure Adoption Rates

Abstract
Community health centres (CHCs) in South Africa have been established to improve access to healthcare services for underserved populations. Multilevel regression analysis was employed to assess factors influencing the adoption of CHCs, including socio-economic conditions at both individual and district levels. The analysis revealed a significant proportion (32%) of underserved populations within districts that did not utilise CHCs, suggesting room for improvement in outreach strategies. Multilevel regression analysis provided insights into the adoption rates of CHCs by accounting for contextual factors affecting their utilization. Future studies should focus on enhancing community engagement and infrastructure development to increase CHC usage among underserved populations. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p<em>i)=\beta</em>0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
