Abstract

District hospitals in South Africa play a critical role in primary healthcare delivery, yet their effectiveness varies widely. A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed journals identified relevant studies. The DiD model was employed to analyse the impact of interventions on yield outcomes, with robust standard errors accounting for potential confounders. The application of the DiD model revealed a significant increase in patient yields by 15% after implementing new healthcare protocols, although this proportion varied across different districts. The DiD model provided valuable insights into yield improvements but highlighted challenges such as varying effectiveness across regions and persistent barriers to implementation. Future studies should consider regional variations in the impact of interventions and explore additional methods to enhance system-wide yield improvements. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
