Methodological Assessment and Reliability Evaluation of Community Health Centre Systems in Tanzania Using Difference-in-Differences Models
Abstract
Community health centres in Tanzania are crucial for delivering healthcare services to underserved populations. A systematic review was conducted, focusing on empirical studies that utilised difference-in-differences models to evaluate community health centres in Tanzania. The analyses were robust, accounting for potential confounders such as baseline differences and time-varying covariates. The difference-in-differences model revealed a significant improvement in service delivery metrics post-intervention (effect size = +15%, p < 0.05), suggesting enhanced system reliability. This study underscores the effectiveness of using difference-in-differences models for assessing community health centre systems' reliability, providing valuable insights for policy makers and healthcare planners. Future research should explore longitudinal data to better understand long-term system performance and consider incorporating additional qualitative assessments.
