Digital Health Records in Kibera: Adoption and Performance by Community Health Workers
Abstract
Digital health records (DHRs) have emerged as a critical tool for improving healthcare service delivery in resource-limited settings. Community CHWs reported a moderate adoption rate of DHRs, with a proportion of 72% using the system regularly for patient records management. CHWs perceived DHRs as enhancing service efficiency but noted challenges in data security and interoperability across different health facilities. Develop targeted training programmes to address specific challenges faced by CHWs, and promote standardization of DHR systems within the region. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
