Abstract
Religious pluralism in Senegal's West African context has been a subject of interest for scholars and policymakers alike. The study employs qualitative research methods, including interviews with religious leaders and community members, alongside a review of existing literature on religious practices and interactions in Senegalese communities. A significant theme emerging from the data is the coexistence of Islam and indigenous beliefs within Senegalese society, particularly evident in rituals and festivals that blend both traditions. This research underscores the importance of inter-religious dialogue for fostering social cohesion and mutual understanding in religiously diverse communities. Policymakers should encourage educational programmes that promote inter-faith education to reduce misconceptions and enhance tolerance among young people.
