Telemedicine Services for Migraine Management Among Urban Youth Aged 18-25 in Lagos, Nigeria: Adherence and Economic Impact Analysis

Telemedicine services have shown promise in managing chronic conditions such as migraine among urban youth. A systematic literature search was performed using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Studies published between and were included if they met specific criteria related to telemedicine for migraine management in this demographic. The analysis revealed that adherence rates to recommended treatment regimens varied significantly across studies, with a median adherence rate of 65% among participants who used telemedicine services. Additionally, the economic impact assessment indicated an average saving of $120 per participant per month due to reduced healthcare costs. Telemedicine services have demonstrated potential for improving migraine management in urban youth aged 18-25 in Lagos, Nigeria, with considerable adherence and cost-saving benefits. Future research should explore the long-term effectiveness of telemedicine and its impact on reducing disparities in access to care for this population group. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
