Abstract

Community health centers in Kenya have been established to improve access to healthcare services, particularly for underserved populations. A systematic literature review was conducted, involving a comprehensive search across databases focusing on studies from Kenya that utilised difference-in-differences models to measure risk reduction. The analysis revealed a significant reduction (p < 0.05) in the incidence of malaria among children who accessed services through community health centres compared to those in control groups, indicating effective intervention strategies. Community health centre systems have shown promise in reducing health risks, particularly for vector-borne diseases such as malaria. Further research should explore scalability and sustainability of these models across different geographical settings and populations. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
