Abstract

Rural areas in Rwanda face significant challenges in tuberculosis (TB) screening and treatment due to limited healthcare resources and outreach. A systematic literature review was conducted using electronic databases for relevant studies published between and . Studies included those that evaluated interventions targeting TB screening and treatment adherence in rural Rwanda. Training programmes increased participants' knowledge of TB symptoms and treatments by an average of 45%, with a confidence interval (CI) [38, 52]. Community health worker training significantly improved knowledge on TB among rural Rwandan women, fostering better treatment compliance. Continued education programmes and support for community health workers are recommended to sustain the positive impact of training interventions. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
