Abstract

The Sahel region in Eswatini is experiencing significant climate variability, affecting human security through increased exposure to water scarcity and food insecurity. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative analysis of climate data and socio-economic indicators. Climate-related shocks have led to a 30% reduction in agricultural productivity, disproportionately impacting women who typically bear the burden of food procurement for their families. The Sahel's human security is threatened by climate change-induced disruptions in livelihoods and social structures, necessitating comprehensive adaptation measures. Implement gender-sensitive climate-smart agriculture interventions to improve resilience among vulnerable populations, particularly women farmers.
