Digital Health Technologies Adoption by Healthcare Providers in Urban Hospitals of Dakar, Senegal: Usage Intensity, Diagnostic Accuracy Changes, and Patient Outcomes Enhancement Timescales

Abstract

Urban hospitals in Dakar, Senegal have increasingly adopted digital health technologies (DHTs), including electronic medical records and telemedicine platforms. A comprehensive search strategy was employed using multiple databases, with data extraction and critical appraisal following PRISMA guidelines. The analysis revealed a moderate increase in DHT usage intensity over the past decade, with an average of 75% daily active users for electronic medical records systems. Digital health technologies have shown promise in enhancing diagnostic accuracy but require further standardised protocols to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
