Abstract
Burkina Faso is a country in West Africa where healthcare access varies significantly across regions. Understanding future health scenarios requires innovative methodologies. An action research approach was employed to gather data through interviews with community leaders, focus group discussions, and a survey among healthcare workers. Data analysis focused on themes emerging from qualitative content. Themes emerged around the perceived role of Afrofuturism in fostering resilience and innovation in healthcare systems facing resource constraints. Afrofuturism offers a valuable lens to understand how African communities might envision and navigate future health challenges, particularly in settings with limited resources. Further research should investigate specific applications of Afrofuturism within Burkina Faso’s healthcare context to inform policy development.
