Abstract

This study examines the impact of regional economic blocs on Ethiopia's development context over a decade. The study employs a qualitative research approach, utilising secondary data from academic journals, official government reports, and international organisation publications to analyse regional economic bloc activities and their impact on Ethiopia’s economic integration processes over the decade under review. A key finding is the significant increase in cross-border trade agreements between Ethiopian regions and neighboring bloc members, enhancing economic cooperation and growth trends within the country. The analysis underscores the pivotal role of regional economic blocs in Ethiopia’s development trajectory, particularly in promoting economic integration and fostering a conducive business environment for investors. Recommendations include strengthening collaboration between Ethiopian regions and international bloc partners to leverage global economic opportunities and enhance sustainable development strategies.
