Abstract
Urban waste management in Kenyan cities is a critical issue affecting biodiversity conservation. Field surveys and stakeholder interviews were conducted to assess policy effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Current policies need reinforcement to include community engagement strategies, which can significantly improve waste management outcomes. Implementing mandatory community education programmes and integrating biodiversity conservation metrics into waste management plans is recommended.
