Abstract

This study examines resilience traits within African health systems, focusing on Senegal's responses to epidemics. Data was collected from official reports, interviews with healthcare professionals, and secondary sources. A thematic analysis approach was employed. Senegal demonstrated strong coordination among various sectors during the MERS-CoV outbreak, which is a notable resilience trait observed in their response. The study highlights that effective collaboration across sectors can significantly enhance health system resilience in epidemic responses. Future research should explore how to scale up and institutionalize these resilient traits within African health systems. Health Systems Resilience, Senegal, Epidemic Responses, African Health Systems
