Abstract

Cultural adaptation and resilience are critical for migrant communities in Southern Africa, particularly those from Tanzania. These communities face unique challenges related to language barriers, cultural differences, and socioeconomic disparities. This study employs a literature review approach to synthesize existing research on cultural adaptation and resilience in migrant populations. Theoretical models from psychology, sociology, and anthropology are integrated to provide a robust theoretical framework. This theoretical framework lays out essential concepts and pathways for future research on cultural adaptation and resilience among migrant communities in Southern Africa. It highlights the importance of tailored interventions that address specific challenges faced by migrants. Future studies should focus on evaluating the effectiveness of culturally sensitive support programmes designed to facilitate language acquisition, build intercultural bridges, and promote community cohesion among migrant populations.
