Abstract

Liberia has experienced rapid urbanization in recent decades, with a significant proportion of its population living in informal settlements. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys to assess service accessibility and adequacy in these areas. Informal settlement residents reported a 40% higher prevalence of unmet healthcare needs compared to urban dwellers. Urbanization in Liberia has exacerbated social welfare disparities, particularly in informal settlements. Immediate investment is needed in infrastructure and services tailored for these communities to improve access and quality of care.
