Abstract

Community health centers (CHCs) play a crucial role in healthcare provision in Ethiopia, particularly in underserved rural areas. A mixed-method approach combining quantitative data collection through surveys and qualitative insights from interviews was employed. Statistical models were utilised for analysing cost-effectiveness, including a linear regression model with robust standard errors. The study revealed that the CHCs significantly reduced healthcare costs by $20 per patient consultation compared to traditional clinics (p < 0.05). This randomized field trial provides evidence on the cost-effectiveness of community health centers in Ethiopia, contributing to policy-making and resource allocation. Further research should focus on scalability and sustainability of CHC systems across different regions of Ethiopia. Community Health Centers, Cost-Effectiveness, Randomized Field Trial, Ethiopia Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
