Methodological Evaluation of Community Health Centre Systems in Tanzania: Quasi-Experimental Design for Adoption Rate Measurement,

Abstract

Community health centers (CHCs) in Tanzania have been established to improve access to healthcare services. A scoping review approach was employed to analyse existing literature and data from Tanzania's Ministry of Health. The study used statistical models to estimate adoption rates and assessed the robustness of these estimates through uncertainty intervals. CHCs in Tanzania showed an average adoption rate of 65% among surveyed communities, with significant variation depending on socioeconomic status. The quasi-experimental design provided a reliable method for measuring CHC adoption rates and highlighted the need for targeted interventions to increase coverage in underserved areas. Future studies should consider implementing mixed-method approaches to complement quantitative data and provide deeper insights into community engagement with CHCs. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p<em>i)=\beta</em>0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
