Methodological Evaluation of Maternal Care Facilities Systems in Tanzania: Quasi-Experimental Design for Measuring Clinical Outcomes,
Abstract
Maternal care facilities in Tanzania face challenges in providing consistent quality clinical outcomes. A comprehensive review using a scoping methodology was conducted, focusing on existing literature from to present. The study employed mixed methods including quantitative data analysis where applicable. The review identified significant variability in the quality of care across facilities, with some clinics achieving outcomes that were statistically significantly better than others (p < 0.05). Quasi-experimental designs can be effective tools for assessing clinical performance in maternal healthcare systems. Implementing standardised protocols and regular training sessions could enhance the quality of care provided by facilities. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
