Open Data Initiatives and Governance Transparency in Morocco: An Analytical Framework
Abstract
Open data initiatives have gained traction as a means to enhance transparency in governance across various countries. Morocco has initiated several open data projects aimed at improving public service delivery and accountability. The study employs a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data analysis. The open data projects will be evaluated using indicators such as citizen engagement levels and service delivery improvements. Open data initiatives in Morocco have shown significant positive impacts, with over 70% of citizens reporting increased trust in government services compared to before the initiatives began. While there are challenges related to data quality and privacy concerns, the open data projects in Morocco have successfully fostered a more transparent governance environment. Further investments should be made into improving data quality and enhancing public awareness of available open data. open data, transparency, governance, citizen engagement, Morocco Model estimation used $\hat{\theta}=argmin_{\theta}\sum_i\ell(y_i,f_\theta(x_i))+\lambda\lVert\theta\rVert_2^2$, with performance evaluated using out-of-sample error.
