Abstract

Equatorial Guinea is a small country in Central Africa that has experienced significant historical legacies impacting its contemporary governance. The analysis draws from archival research and secondary sources examining historical documents related to governance patterns post-independence. Equatorial Guinea's current governance challenges are deeply rooted in its colonial past, necessitating a comprehensive review of institutional reforms to address these historical continuities. Reforming the economy through decentralisation, promoting transparency, and fostering inclusive policies can mitigate the vestiges of colonial control.
