Abstract

Women's empowerment workshops have been implemented in South African communities as a strategy to promote economic empowerment and entrepreneurial success among women. A mixed methods approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with quantitative surveys to assess participants' experiences and achievements over a two-year period. Participants reported significant improvements in business skills (85% increase) and increased confidence in managing their enterprises. Entrepreneurial success stories emerged as key themes. The workshops appear effective in enhancing women's economic capabilities, particularly in developing practical business acumen and fostering entrepreneurial ventures. Further research should explore long-term impacts and scalability of such programmes to ensure sustained economic benefits for participants.
