Health System Resilience in Zambian Epidemics: A Comparative Analysis
Abstract
Zambia has experienced recurrent epidemics that have tested its health systems over decades. An interpretive approach informed by secondary data analysis of health policy documents and epidemiological reports. The commentary underscores the importance of sustained investment in community-based services and cross-sectoral collaboration as key strategies for enhancing future health system resilience against epidemics. Policy recommendations include prioritising investments in community healthcare workers and fostering stronger public-private partnerships to strengthen epidemic preparedness and response capabilities.
