Abstract

The study examines the impact of digital literacy workshops conducted in rural Senegalese youth, comparing outcomes from similar workshops in Ghana. The study employed a comparative design to analyse data collected from participants who attended digital literacy workshops in both countries. Data were analysed using standard statistical methods. In the Ghanaian workshop, 85% of participants showed significant improvement in basic computer skills by the end of three months, with themes emerging around improved internet navigation and email usage. The digital literacy workshops had a positive impact on the learning outcomes of rural Senegalese youth, particularly in enhancing their ability to navigate the internet and use email effectively. Further research should focus on long-term effects and sustainability strategies for these digital literacy programmes.
