Abstract

In rural Uganda, maternal health remains a significant public health challenge due to limited access to healthcare services. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys and focus group discussions with a sample representative of rural Ugandan mothers. Among 120 respondents who received the devices, 75% reported immediate use post-installation for monitoring their health conditions. Focus groups identified enhanced self-care and timely intervention as key benefits. Innovative maternal health monitoring devices are well-received by rural Ugandan mothers, offering practical tools for improved health management. Further dissemination of these devices should be prioritised in collaboration with local healthcare providers to maximise their impact on maternal health outcomes. maternal health, innovation adoption, rural Uganda, monitoring devices
