Abstract

Telehealth programmes have emerged as a critical tool for managing chronic diseases in urban populations across various countries. The research employed qualitative methods including semi-structured interviews and focus groups to gather data from participants involved in telehealth programmes in urban areas of Ghana. Participants reported significant improvements in disease management and access to healthcare, with a notable increase in satisfaction (78%) compared to baseline levels. The findings underscore the potential of telehealth as an effective tool for chronic disease management in urban settings, highlighting its role in enhancing patient engagement and health outcomes. Healthcare providers should integrate telehealth into their service models, while policymakers should consider funding mechanisms to support wider adoption.
