Impact of Vocational Skills Development Programmes on Female Labour Market Entry in Morocco: A Mixed-Methods Inquiry
Abstract
Morocco has implemented vocational skills development programmes to enhance employability in various sectors, including female participation in the labour market. The study employs a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data from surveys with qualitative insights from focus groups and interviews to examine programme effectiveness and participant experiences in Morocco. Findings indicate that the vocational skills development programmes have led to an increase of 20% in female employment rates within targeted industries, particularly in sectors such as textiles and construction. The mixed-methods study underscores the positive impact of tailored vocational training on enhancing female participation in skilled labour markets. Recommendation for policymakers includes further expansion of these programmes with a focus on aligning them more closely with current employment trends and needs.
