Abstract

District hospitals in Nigeria are pivotal healthcare providers serving rural and underserved populations. However, their efficiency and effectiveness remain under-researched. A mixed-methods approach was employed including quantitative data collection (surveys) and qualitative interviews. The study used a control group comparison for yield assessment. District hospitals achieved a 15% increase in patient throughput, with an estimated uncertainty of ±3% based on robust standard errors from the regression model. The quasi-experimental design demonstrated significant potential to enhance healthcare delivery systems in Nigeria. Further research should focus on scalability and sustainability of proposed interventions across diverse settings. District Hospitals, Quasi-Experimental Design, Yield Improvement, Healthcare Delivery Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
