Abstract

Integrated farming systems (IFS) are increasingly recognised for their potential to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability among resource-poor farmers in Benin. A comprehensive search strategy was employed across multiple databases, including Scopus and Web of Science, with a focus on studies published between and . Studies were screened according to predefined criteria for inclusion. The review identified a significant proportion (45%) of studies focusing on the socio-economic impacts of IFS, suggesting their relevance in improving farmers' livelihoods. IFS have shown promise in enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability, particularly among resource-poor farmers in Benin. However, there remains variability across different study regions and contexts. Future research should prioritise comparative studies to better understand the specific impacts of IFS in various ecological settings within Benin.
